A short page, because the site is a set of static documents and does very little.
This journal is a small collection of static pages. It has no accounts, no comment threads, no newsletter and no forms of any kind, which removes most of the situations in which a website would need information about you.
No analytics or statistics package is installed. There is no tag manager, no measurement script, no page-view beacon and no session recording. We do not know how many people read a given essay and we have chosen not to find out.
These pages set no cookies. The small amount of script on the site prints the current year in the footer, opens the navigation menu on narrow screens, and animates the measure bars in the sidebar when they scroll into view. None of that writes anything to your browser's storage or reads anything from it.
Every stylesheet, script, image and icon is served from this domain. There are no fonts loaded from font services, no embedded video, no social media widgets, no comment platform and no content delivery network in front of the pages. Consequently no third party learns that you visited, because no third party is contacted at all.
Whoever hosts a website receives requests for files, and those requests are ordinarily written to a log containing an address, a timestamp and the file requested. That is a property of how the web functions rather than a choice this journal has made, and we neither analyse those records nor connect them to anything.
Essays link to other pages within this journal. Where a page does point elsewhere, the destination is governed by its own arrangements and nothing on this site follows you there.
Nothing here is aimed at children and nothing here collects information from anyone, of any age. There is no mechanism by which a visitor of any age could submit anything to this site.
If the site ever gains a feature that requires information from readers — which is not planned — this page will be rewritten before that feature appears rather than afterwards. The version you are reading describes the site as it currently stands.
Because no personal information is collected, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, export or erase. That is the intended state and we do not expect it to change.
